What inspires you to live the life you live?
I'd say "humankind". Or rather, the progression our species has made.
Here's an insignificant ape minding its own business right here in East Africa some 70,000 years ago. In the following millennia, it transforms itself into a master of the entire planet and a horror of the ecosystem. Today it stands on the verge of becoming a god, poised to acquire not only immortality but also the divine abilities of creation and destruction: splendor and terror. If that isn't as mind-boggling as it is awe-inspiring, I don't know what can ever be.
What's your favourite piece/source of content?
My favourite content source has to be Dr. Harari's Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind. It's a thrilling non-fiction book that gives an account of our species' extraordinary history. I usually joke that I could build an entire religion around it.
About Kisilu
Finally, I am the founder of Penda Kujua, a blog that, by all means, redefines narration. See, in our quest to make sense of all that surrounds us, we've only found one effective way to do so: science.
By crunching hard scientific data and facts and repackaging them into stories Penda Kujua makes science easy, fun and, above all, palatable to the masses.
We aim primarily at an African audience since our continent ranks lowest in scientific literacy.
