Shalini Bhalla-Lucas

TV/Radio Presenter. Teacher. Author. Motivational Speaker

What inspires you to live the life you live?
The devastating death of my beautiful husband Jeremy made me realise that life is so very short and fragile. If a relationship is not nurturing you or it feels toxic, end it. If a job does not make you happy, look for something that does. If a situation is not right for you, change it. Don't wait for tomorrow because today is all we have. We have choices and we owe it to ourselves to choose things that make us happy. And so I choose to live life fully, compassionately and to make a difference – however small. And sharing this message with others – and giving them skills to live happy, mindful lives, keeps me motivated.

What's your favourite piece/source of content?
My favourite piece of content is from my own book – Always With You. I poured my heart and soul into writing it – and it charts out my story to date – love, loss and hope. It contains some of my favourite quotes, and the quote that is most precious to me is:

“If ever there’s a tomorrow when we’re not together… there’s something you must remember… You are braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think… But the most important thing is, even if we’re apart… I’ll always be with you.”
