About Laura

With over 20 years working experience in the IT industry, Laura is responsible for driving CIO's transformation to strategically position and collaborate with industry players yearning to digitally transform their enterprises. To this effect, she organizes focused top-tier corporate roundtables as well as quarterly summits inclined to sharing insights on new disruptive technologies.

As a champion of corporate networking, she has made immense contributions in the sector. Through the annual CIO 100 Survey, she oversees the evaluation of entities impacting communities as they embrace technology as an enabler.

She has been involved as a moderator, adjudicator and panelist in diverse East Africa speaking sessions. Among them - Thomson Reuters, recently rebranded Refinitive – Customer Excellence Awards, Transform Africa, World AI Show, Blockchain Summit, The CIO East Africa CIO Breakfast Series. Being the founder member of HerNovation – a Women in Technology platform organized by Kommunication Ultimate, she has delivered several keynotes.

Laura’s passion in rugby and in digital transformation has since earned her space to serve as an Advisory Board member of the Kisumu Rugby Football Club – a Kenyan rugby union club based in Kisumu and CIO East Africa annual organizing Summits and Forums.

Laura peviously worked at Microsoft where she built the corporate brand and oversaw the execution of several product launches - Windows 10, Office 365 and Azure. One of her biggest wins was taking a focused lead in the launch of Microsoft 4Afrika, an initiative that’s positively impacting on people’s lives.
